Wages and Hours

37 hrs and £195.36 per week, term time only. Role is Monday to Friday, you will be required to attend Bishop Auckland College every Thursday 9:15am – 4:45pm (Working hours within the school to be arranged between 8am – 5:30pm).

Job Description

Working in the EYFS department –This could include personal care for the children. Key Tasks:

Support for Pupils:

• Support learning of small groups or individuals with a range of needs or be a key worker in Nursery • Help with the care and support of pupils • Contribute to the health and well-being of pupils • Establish and maintain relationships with individual pupils and groups • Be an effective model for pupil behaviour

Support for the Teacher:

• Assist with classroom resources & lesson preparation • Contribute to the management of pupils' behaviour, both in the classroom and on the playground, as required • Provide support for learning activities • Assist in the maintenance of a safe environment for pupils and staff • Assist in the presentation of display materials • Support teaching staff or senior colleagues with routine administration • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures • Ensure Health & Safety and hygiene is to a high standard

Support for the School:

• Monitor effective working relationships with colleagues and parents • Contribute to the maintenance of pupil safety and security • Review and develop their own professional practice • Recognise confidentiality, child protection procedures, Health & Safety, and the policies of the Governing Body • Be involved in extracurricular activities, (e.g. clubs, activities, trips, open days, presentation evenings) • Support Wraparound provision as required • Assist with special activities in the school within school hours (e.g. sports days, plays, concerts, open days) • To follow the observation and record keeping system and maintain the records for his or her key children so that the children’s attainment and progress are effectively and regularly assessed • To carry out all responsibilities and activities within the Equal Opportunities framework • To attend in-service training and meetings as required • To undertake any other reasonable duties in accordance with the objectives for the setting’s improvement plans • To carry out all responsibilities and activities with due regard to equality

Additional info:

When working in a school you get paid term time only pro rata. You will not be able to take holidays during term time. Working in a school can be very rewarding. The hours may involve earlier and later starts (between 8:00am – 5:30pm) depending on wrap around care needs. Please consider the working hours when applying.
