Not everyone can attend regular classes-Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.
Funding eligibility criteria:
- Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31/08/2019
- Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full L2 Qualification
- Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past 3 years
Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This qualification aims to develop the learners understanding of autism and how they can support individuals with autism in a range of different contexts, whether they work in health, social care or children’s or young people’s settings. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.
What will I do?
You will be required to complete 3 modules of study. The course will cover Module A Unit 1 Introduction to autism. Unit 2 Using a person – centred approach to support individuals with autism. Module B Unit 3 Communication and social interaction in individuals with autism. Unit 4 Sensory processing, perception and cognition in individuals with autism. Module C Unit 5 Supporting positive behaviour in individuals with autism. Unit 6 Supporting individuals with autism to live healthy and fulfilled lives.Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.
What will it give me?
The qualification will help learners to understand the characteristics of the different forms of autism, and appreciate the importance of seeing each person with autism as a unique set of needs, strengths and abilities. This qualification will prepare you to tackle the many problems and challenges individuals with autism and their families face. On successful completion of the course, a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
What can I do when I finish?
By undertaking this programme, you will be able to further your own continuous professional development, which may improve your career prospects or you can progress onto further qualifications or another Flexible Learning course.
