Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes- Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.

Funding eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year
  • Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full Level 2 Qualification
  • Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past three years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This qualification is aimed at learners who wish to develop their understanding of the importance of dignity and safeguarding in an adult health and social context. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.

What will I do?

You will be required to complete two modules of study. The course will cover Module A Unit 1 Understand safeguarding in adult health and social care. Unit 2 Principles of dignity in adult health and social care. Module B Unit 3 Understand duty of care in adult health and social care. Unit 4 Understand dilemmas and public concerns in adult health and social care.

Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.

What will it give me?

The qualification explores two key principles that everyone who works within health and social care should strive to uphold. The first principle is that of promoting and respecting an individual’s dignity. The second principle is that of safeguarding an individual’s right to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. These two fundamental principles are interlinked. This qualification will help to prepare you for employment or support your existing role in the workplace. On successful completion of the course a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
