Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes. Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. Funding eligibility criteria:

• Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year

• Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full Level 2 Qualification

• Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past three years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This course is designed for learners who wish to understand more about the signs and risk factors that may indicate domestic abuse and the protection available to those who are being abused. It will be highly valuable to those who have a responsibility to respond to domestic abuse or support those experiencing domestic abuse. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.

What will I do?

You will be required to complete two modules covering four units of study. These are: Understand domestic abuse; Understand the signs and risk factors associated with domestic abuse; Understand the impact of domestic abuse; Understand policy, response and intervention in relation to domestic abuse. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.

What will it give me?

By following this programme, learners will be able to develop their knowledge and understanding of the impact that abuse has on individuals, children, family members, support service providers and society as a whole. On successful completion of the course a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
