This course aims to give the learner the IT skills needed for employment and home use. It is suitable for learners who are looking to broaden their knowledge and those who want to build upon their existing skills to gain a practical qualification. Units studied will be relevant to both workplace and home use as the course allows learners to apply knowledge, understanding and skills to a level recognised by employers as the course is one that reflects real work skills.
There are no specific entry requirements, but learners must have some experience of a basic use of IT using a computer or laptop rather than an mobile phone.
What will I do?
You will develop knowledge of different software applications and use them to complete tasks effectively.
• Word processing - how to format documents
• Presentations - creating a presentation
• Spreadsheets - how to use formulae
• Database - how to create a database and use queries
Units are assessed via an assignment.
None required - just the willingness to learn.

You can progress to a higher level of the course.
