Through practical and theory based sessions the Level 1 course prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.
Learners must have a genuine interest in the education and well-being of children and young people from 5-19 years within an education environment. No previous experience in a school is necessary.
What will I do?
Complete three knowledge/theory based units which must be completed successfully in order to achieve the qualification. This qualification will be internally assessed using a range of methods, which could include written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams, or setting up an information board.

A recognised qualification: CACHE Level 1 Award in Preparing to work in Schools
What can I do when I finish?
Upon successful completion of the Level 1 Learners can apply to progress onto the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
