Course overview

This course aims to help you to master simple and basic techniques to improve the taste, texture and appearance of bread.

*This course does not qualify for fee remission.

Course requirements

No experience needed.

What will I do?

You will learn how to weigh, scale, shape, bake and finish a variety of bread products. This will include milk rolls, tiger bread, enriched dough and crumpets.

What will it give me?

There will be no formal assessment but you will be observed whilst carrying out practical tasks and will gain an in-house certificate in completion of the course.

Materials needed

All ingredients are included in the cost. Aprons and equipment will be provided.

What can I do when I finish?

We have a range of other short courses in catering available and we also offer a part-time level 2 or 3 qualification in Professional cookery, that runs from September to June one evening a week.
