Course overview

This qualification is to develop and recognise learners’ IT skills and knowledge and enable them to use IT effectively in their daily lives. This qualification is designed to prepare learners for employment in the IT sector and they are suitable for those who have decided that they wish to enter a specific area of work within the IT industry or progress to a level 3 qualification after completion.

Course requirements

No previous skills or requirements needed. Just a willingness to learn.

What will I do?

You will cover a range of units to support your overall IT skills including Databases, Word Processing and Software Fundamentals etc. On a full time, study programme you will also study English and maths if you did not get a Grade 4 or above as school, as well as other enrichment programmes.

What will it give me?

A Level 2 qualification in order to progress to a level 3 qualification within the college.

Materials needed

Basic course materials i.e. files and stationery.
