Course overview

If your dream is to become a beauty therapist, then the Level 1 Diploma in Beauty is the place to start. You will learn and practise the skills needed to be successful in your career, whether this is running your own salon, travelling the world working on a cruise liner or self employment.

The opportunities are as broad as your imagination. This is a full time course which includes work placement along with maths and English and is taught over three days per week. You will partake in both practical and theory lessons.

Course requirements

Minimum 3 GCSE’s at grades 2 - 1 (E - F) or equivalent, or entry level qualification. Alternative qualifications and experience will be considered.

Materials needed

All students in the Hairdressing and Beauty department are required to wear a uniform and purchase their own hairdressing kit which can be purchased from the college. Support may be provided.

What will I do?

Whilst studying the Diploma in Beauty Level 1, you will be able practice your skills in our purpose-built salons. You'll gain valuable work experience in areas such as an introduction to hair and beauty, health & safety in the salon, working with others, assisting with reception work, facial and photographic makeup, colour manicures, pedicures and nail art and face painting.

What will it give me?

This programme aims to help you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to become a practising Beauty Therapist. It will also give you a Level 1 Diploma in Beauty.
