Course overview

The part time course is particularly targeted at those learners who want to progress into other further education courses, or into new work areas.

The qualification aims to support learners who are returning, or planning to return, to work and who are seeking to update and/or add to their employment skills.

The most important things that you need in order to complete the NOCN Level 2 course (Pre-Access Nursing and Social Work) are a lively and enquiring mind, an interest in health and social care, a willingness to explore new ideas and an ability to communicate your ideas effectively.

The qualification provides you with chances to develop an understanding of caring organisations and the clients they serve while developing essential core study skills to assist in future studies.

On successful completion of the Pre-Pathway to Nursing and Social Work level 2 there is the potential to progress onto the BTEC Foundation Diploma and then BTEC Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care or to explore other employment options in care.
