Course overview
This advanced level course builds on skills, knowledge and experience gained at Level 2. Practicing your skills in our purpose built salons and through a work placement you will continue to develop expertise in consulting with clients for hair services, how to style, dress, cut and finish men's hair, cutting facial hair and hair colouring and also learn and perfect new techniques such as creating patterns in men's hair and shaving techniques.
This course is ran over 2 days OR 2 eveings per week.
Course requirements
Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing, Barbering or significant salon experience. Interview and short assessment.
What will I do?
Throughout the course you will learn advanced barbering skills. You will be required to complete theory tests and salon assessments. The course units include: Monitor and maintain Health and Saftey practice in the salon, Consultation support for colleagues, Cut men's hair using a variety of techniques, Cut facial hair to create a variety of of looks, Design and create patterns in the hair, Provide shaving and face massage services. Additional units are to be confirmed.
What will it give me?
The course will give you a level 3 in Barbering.
Materials needed
All students in the Hairdressing and Beauty department are required to wear a uniform and purchase their own hairdressing kit which can be purchased from the College. This is essential for all practical sessions.
