The Level 2 Award in Instructing Indoor Studio Cycling Sessions is aimed at qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructors and is for individuals who have a desire to run Indoor Studio Cycling sessions. This qualification is recognised as CPD by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). Successful completion of this qualification will enhance your employability within the sport and active leisure industry as an indoor studio cycling instructor.
The Level 2 Award in Instructing Studio Cycling Sessions has been specifically designed as continued professional development (CPD) for qualified fitness instructors. Through this qualification you will develop an understanding of the key concepts of studio cycling, including the principles and safety considerations. You will develop the skills and knowledge required to prepare for, instruct and evaluate, safe and effective studio cycling sessions, including bike maintenance.
Pre-requisite qualifications needed for progression onto this qualification are:
• Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing (Gym-Based Exercise).
You will be invited to attend an interview and screening process where your
qualifications, experience and goals will be discussed.
What can I do when I finish?
On completion of this qualification you may choose to undertake further study. Qualifications you could progress onto include:
• Level 2 Award in Instructing Kettlebell Training Sessions
• Level 2 Award in Instructing Circuit Training Sessions
• Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training
• Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy

What will I do?
The structure of the qualification is comprised of 2 units which are both mandatory:
- Planning studio cycling sessions
- Instructing studio cycling sessions
As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. Your assessor will provide guidance on how to prepare the portfolio of evidence and how to show practical achievement via an assessed observation along with a demonstration of the knowledge required to successfully complete this qualification.
