Course overview

Eat Well, Spend Less’ cookery and budgeting. This course has been developed to inspire and teach you how to make the most of the ingredients you have.

The course teaches basic food hygiene, knife skills, managing your food budget. You will also look at recycling skills, preparing dishes that can take home with you. These include things like homemade pizza’s, one pot dishes casseroles soups and stews.

Course requirements

An interest in cooking and a desire to freshen up your kitchen creativity and skills.

What can I do when I finish?

Cook delicious homemade food for yourself family and friends. Manage a budget and make the most of every ingredient.

What next?

We offer part-time L2 and L3 professional cookery qualification that be appealing to you after this course. These courses are running during the week or also on a Wednesday evening.

What will I do?

Over the course you will learn how to be very creative with some very basic inexpensive ingredients. You will learn how to reduce food wastage to a minimum make the most of every ingredient.]

The chef tutor will be teaching and leading you through a hands on practical learning experience.

Your group sessions will be delivered in the college professional training kitchens.

What will it give me?

As well as a lot of fun and a great experience to meet new friends you will receive An award certificate in Cookery.
