This position is to be based within the Durham Gateway area of the College, which is a specialist department working with pre-16 students who are studying an alternative provision route.

Bishop Auckland College is seeking to recruit a 1.0 English Teacher who will be responsible for the effective and efficient teaching and coordination of English within Durham Gateway.

The successful candidate will require Certificate in Education (or be willing to work towards within 2 years) or equivalent Newly Qualified Teacher status; minimum of a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject; Safeguarding Level 1 (to be achieved within 6 weeks); and Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy. It is desirable that candidates also hold an IT qualification; level 2 Equality & Diversity; a Degree; level 3 Assessors Certificate; level 4 Internal Quality Assurance/Internal Verification and QTLS.

Applicants will also have recent experience of teaching on 14-16 provision and recent sustained good or outstanding judgements and lesson observations (or have the ability to prove this in the interview process). This role will include responsibilities within safeguarding and the postholder will be engaging in regulated activity.
