Wage/hours:
£144.30 and 37hr per week – Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 4.30pm. One day per week will be in Bishop Auckland College.

Qualification that you’ll work towards:
Supporting Teaching and Learning – Level 2, to progress to L3 afterwards.

Job description:
 Supervising arts and crafts and organising group activities
 Contribute creative ideas for activities and setting out the activity rooms
 Assisting and supporting with reading and writing skills, helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
 Helping staff to plan learning activities and complete records
 Looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
 Clearing away materials and equipment after sessions
 Provide play and learning opportunities and maintain high standards of quality care and educational provision
 To be a role model at all times to children, families, fellow teaching assistants, students and those from the local community
 End of day duties you need to ensure final standards within your area. Ensure preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of your work areas and equipment
 Constantly ensure the general standards of your area are high and good practice.
Qualities required:
 Good communication skills both written and verbal and ability to work effectively as part of a team
 Broad understanding of a school environment
 Friendly, confident, honest, reliable with a good sense of humour
 Able to use initiative, be a good time keeper, smart and presentable
 A clear understanding of confidentiality

Qualifications required:
GCSE maths and English at grade 4 or above- predicted grade will be taken into account.
ICT GCSE grade 3 or above desirable
