£152.10 – 39hrs per week. Monday at college 9.15 am – 4.45pm, Tuesday to Friday 8 am – 4.30 pm 30 mins for lunch.
Qualification that you’ll work towards:
Site Joinery – L2
Work safely and be aware of key health, safety and welfare issues.
Plan and carry out work to commercial standards of quality and speed.
Move, handle and store resources, such as materials and timber components, complying with relevant legislation and guidance.
Interpret and follow verbal and written work instructions from trade supervisors and site managers.
Select the required materials to carry out the work, such as correct timber, tools and fixings.
Access, interpret and use drawings and specifications to carry out the work.
Carry out a range of job tasks including measuring, marking out, fitting, cutting, splicing, finishing, positioning and securing.
Install door and window frames, door and hatch linings, floor joist coverings, straight partitions and straight staircases.
Install doors, ironmongery, service encasements, wall and floor units and fitments, cladding and staircase components.
Erect inclined roofs with gables, joists, roof coverings and roof components.
Repair or replace frames, mouldings, doors, windows, door and window ironmongery, roofing components, guttering and downpipes and window components.
This list is not extensive, as we are a building company you will be also trained in some brick work and plastering work as and when required. keeping the site clean and tidy, you will be responsible for the end of week housekeeping of the bate cabin and time will be allocated for college work.
Good hand and eye coordination, good time keeping skills, enthusiastic, willingness to learn new skills, hardworking, and not afraid to ask for help.
GCSE grades 4 or above for maths and English.
