Overview

If your dream is to become a top artist or graphic designer then this is the place to start. You will learn and practice all the skills you need to be successful in your career. Whether this is to develop your work as an independent artist, progress to the next level or work in the Arts Industry. The opportunities are as broad as your imagination.

Course requirements

Four or more GCSEs at grade D-E or higher and should include a qualification in either: Art or Design Technology (DT), Graphic Design or DT Textiles. If you do not have the requirements above, you still may be able to join if you have relevant experience.

What will I do?

This full time course is taught over 3 days per week for 1 year which includes Maths, English and work experience. This course is designed to provide a broad based introduction to Art & Design. It allows progression onto the Level 3 Diploma to further develop your skills and prepare you for a career in Art & Design.

What will it give me?

This course will give you an introduction to a range of subjects within the context of Art & Design. This will include: Drawing
Painting
Print making
3D
Graphics
Photography

Materials needed

You will be provided with specialist art equipment throughout the course but will be expected to provide your basic art materials and you will be asked to contribute towards the cost of educational visits as part of your studies.

What can I do when I finish?

If you gain suitable grades you may progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Art & Design course, undertake an apprenticeship within the industry or seek employment.
