Not everyone can attend regular classes. Flexible Learning means you can study at your leisure at times and locations to suit you. More and more employers/employees are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to support their work force development and training needs. The courses can be offered in the work place or in a venue within the community if you do not have a place of work and built around the needs of your business or training requirements. Instead of you coming to us, the College comes to you. All of our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support to learners. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.
This course does not require an interview and there are no formal entry requirements. Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. You must be over 16 years on or after the 1st September of the current academic year. Learners aged between 16-18 can apply if they are not in full time education. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.
What will I do?
You will be required to complete 5 units of study. This course will cover: Unit 1: Preparing to lead the team Understand key leadership roles Understand the benefits of working with colleagues Understand the team leaders role in health, safety and security Understand the team leaders role in procuring resources Understand the team leaders role in customer service Understand how information is managed. Unit 2: Support development of self and team members Understand the performance requirement of a team leader Understand how to measure progress against agreed personal objectives Understand how to support and communicate with others. Unit 3: Communication and the team leader Understand the importance of effective communication with colleagues Presenting information and giving instructions Understand how to take part in meetings. Unit 4: Equality, diversity and the team leader Understand the support required by team members or colleagues Understand how to support ethnic diversity and minority groups. Unit 5: Motivating the team Understand motivational theory Understand the use of delegation as a motivational tool Understand the importance of development activities in motivation The importance of recognition. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.
What will it give me?
Through this course, learners will not only learn how to lead, support and develop a team but they will develop their communication and motivation skills. This will be beneficial to learners and to employers. Upon completion of the course you will receive a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.
