Apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations

Overview

This Intermediate Level Apprenticeship is a route to becoming a trained operator within the manufacturing sector. Manufacturing is one of the largest industries out there – nearly everything we use, eat, drink, or travel in has been manufactured. As an apprentice, you could focus on either the engineering or manufacturing aspect of production. job roles include Machine operative, fabrications, CNC operator, Manufacturing Process operator, assembly operator and business improvement technician to name a few.

Course requirements

You will be required to complete the NVQ and Technical Certificate in PMO / BIT as well as completing Employer Rights and Responsibilities and Personal Learning and Thinking Skills. If it is required, you will also need to complete Functional Skills in Mathematics and English. You will also be allocated an assessor who will visit you in your work place to provide support with the NVQ and Technical Certificate.

What will I do?

Nothing, your employer will provide you with PPE.

What can I do when I finish?

Progress to the level 3 (advanced) apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques. Progress into a career as a: Metal working and machine operative – Quality controller CNC operator – Maintenance operative – Process operator – Manufacturing process operator – Maintenance operator – Production inspector – Assembly operator – Materials handler – B-IT administration operative – B-IT quality control operative – B-IT shop-floor operative.
