Diploma in Photography L1 (full time)

Overview

This course is designed for people who are interested in a career in photography and related disciplines and you will study a range of units including; studio photography, digital and traditional practice, location photography , portrait and fashion photography. Students will discover the magic of photography via a series of assignments specifically written to broaden their outlook. Students can also take advantage of our excellent facilities including ‘dark room’ exhibition studio and enterprise suite with large format printing equipment.

Course requirements

  • Four or more GCSEs at C or above including maths and English
  • Portfolio of work
  • An interview and short assessment will assess suitability and interest

What will I do?

Throughout the course you will learn the basics of photography and how to use the settings on your camera, we will look at visual language exploring portraiture, landscapes and documentary aswell as a final brief with the opportunity to explore your own personal style in a final major project and showcase your work in a professional final exhibition.

What will it give me?

The course will help you understand how to use your camera and the basics of photography.

Materials needed

Your own DSLR camera and a keen interest in photography.

What can I do when I finish?

You can go on to study photography L2 and L3 and will have the knowledge to start building up your own personal work and portfolio.
