Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes -Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements.

All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.


Course requirements

This course does not require an interview and there are no formal entry requirements. Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This qualification is aimed at anyone who wants to develop their knowledge and understanding of Specific Learning Difficulties. This could include teaching staff that wish to further their understanding of dyslexia, ADHD and other Specific Learning Difficulties, as well as employers who are looking for ways to support their workforce. 

You must be over 16 years on or after the 1st September of the current academic year. Learners aged between 16-18 can apply if they are not in full time education. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.


What will I do?

You will be required to complete 2 modules of study. The course will cover Module A Unit 1 Understand Specific Learning Difficulties. Unit 2 Understand the effects of specific learning difficulties. Unit 3 Understand the diagnosis of specific learning difficulties. Module B Unit 4 Understanding supporting individuals with specific learning difficulties. Unit 5 Understand the context of specific learning difficulties.

Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple-choice exam for this course


What will it give me?

You will develop your knowledge and understanding of dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties. It will also help to identify ways of supporting individuals with dyslexia and other specific learning difficulties.On successful completion of the course, a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. A nationally recognised awarding body accredits the course.
