Course overview

The L3 90 Credit Diploma in Performing Arts will give you the opportunity to build your confidence and ability to perform in front of live audiences. If your dream is to become an actor, singer or performer then this is the course for you. You will learn and practise all the skills you need to be successful in your career. Whether this is to develop your work as an individual artist, progress to university or work in the Performing Arts industry. The opportunities are endless.


Course requirements

Level 2 in Performing Arts and a relevant GCSE. A genuine interest in performing. You will also be required to attend an interview and successfully complete and audition.


What will I do?

The L3 90 Credit Diploma in Performing Arts is taught over 3 /4 days per week for 1 / 2 years which includes Maths, English and work experience. You will study core and specialist units in the following depending on your pathway: Acting Singing Dance Radio Acting Variety and Musical Theatre Performance. Students following the generic pathway will study all three disciplines which are Singing, Dancing and Acting. Students on the Dance pathway will focus solely on dance and movement skills.


What will it give me?

This course will give you the opportunity to build your confidence and ability and perform in front of live audiences. It will also give you a Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts.


Materials needed

Props will be needed throughout the year for performances.


What can I do when I finish?

If you gain suitable grades you may progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts. Alternatively you could seek employment in the industry.
