Course overview

Most jobs require people with IT user skills. Operating a computer and being able to use the internet and a word processor are essential skills for work as well as life. IT User Skills can be used to develop a tailored work package, to properly prepare you for work or return to work. The course includes: one mandatory unit Level 2: Improving Productivity Using IT which all learners must take. Units delivered can be used to progress into a specific job role or alternatively can be used as a progression route to Further Education.

Course requirements

You should ideally have some IT skills already.

What will I do?

In order to achieve the NOCN Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ITQ), you must successfully complete a minimum of 16 credits. This must include the mandatory unit at Level 2, Improving Productivity Using IT which is 4 credits, a minimum of 12 credits can then be taken from the optional units (6 of these credits must be at Level 2). These could include: Using the Internet, IT Security, Using Email, Presentation Software and Word Processing Software.

What will it give me?

It will give you a recognised IT qualification that meets with the demand of a changing workplace. It is not limited to those working at a desk or with a PC as well as developing new skills.

None required - just the willingness to learn.

This qualification is particularly suitable for those who are looking for employment or currently working in a number of areas including:

·         Office Managers, Customer Service Advisors, Administrators, Team Leaders and Sales Advisors.

·         People working in the voluntary and community sector

·         People working in the private sector
