Course overview

Designed for anyone who wants to know how to do small plastering DIY jobs around the home, or as a foundation course for those who would are thinking of become a plasterer and may consider further training at a later date. This is a part-time course is taught over one evening per week for three hours.

Course requirements

There are no course requirements for this course. Please call into the college to enrol, no interview required. Please ensure you bring a minimum of a 20% deposit when you come to enrol.

What will I do?

This is a good starter course. You will gain an introduction to the basic knowledge required for plastering techniques. You will identify and use tools safely, fix angle beads to corners and be able to apply first and second coat plaster to given specifications (for example reveals and piers).

What will it give me?

This course will give you a NOCN Level 1 Award in Basic Construction (QCF).

Materials needed

Please bring along your own safety boots.

What can I do when I finish?

You will be able to progress on to a full-time course or you may want explore the other technology courses such as 'Develop your DIY Skills' or 'Basic Vehicle Maintenance'.
