Course overview

This course will provide you with the introductory knowledge and skills you will need to undertake work in the carpentry and joinery industry. During the course you will learn how to manufacture windows, doors, stairs and units, as well as fitments, including marking out, machining and assembling. Our courses have an excellent reputation with employers and help you to develop construction skills that will put you at the forefront of the job market. In College, you will be taught by staff who, have not only had successful careers in industry themselves, but who also lead in shaping the UK’s construction and building services training sector.


Course requirements

This is a part time course offered to 19+ learners where you will complete the Diploma in Bench Joinery. You do not require any previous qualifications or experience.


What will I do?

You will work through a variety of units relating to bench joinery including Health and Safety and Principles of Building. You are assessed on completion of written tasks and online tests during theory sessions and practical related tasks in the joinery workshop.


What will it give me?

A nationally recognised qualification of a Bench Joiner at Level 2.


Materials needed

PPE (Boots) all materials and tools are supplied within the workshop.


What can I do when I finish?

Progress to a L3 in Bench Joinery.
