Course overview

This Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business L2 offers an introduction to accountancy knowledge and skills alongside complementary business, communications and personal skills that will enhance your employability. 

The Foundation Diploma also offers young people aged 16-19 the chance to study full time to meet the requirements of the 16-19 study programme.

Course requirements

5 GCSE’s A*-D including English, Maths and ICT or equivalent qualifications.

What will I do?

The Foundation Diploma in Accounting & Business L2 will be taught over 3 days per week for one year. 

Topics will include;

  • Bookkeeping Transactions,
  • Elements of Costing,
  • Using Accounting Software,
  • Developing Lifelong Learning Skills
  • Introduction to Payroll. 

Maths and English, Employability Skills and Work Placement will also form part of this programme.  

Assessment is through end of unit tests.

What will it give me?

A L2 Foundation Diploma in Accounting and Business.

What can I do when I finish?

You will be able to progress to the Advanced Diploma in Accounting subject to satisfactory attendance and commitment. Alternatively, you may be able to find employment at your current level or progress to an apprenticeship.
