The Early Years Educator Qualification is the must have qualification. It is for all those wanting to work with children from birth to five years of age.
This CACHE level 3 Certificate will show that you have been trained to the highest standards.
All learners must have a GCSE in English and Mathematics at C grade or above (no equivalents) before beginning their learning journey to become an Early Years Educator. Three other subjects at C grade or above, equivalent BTEC qualifications will be considered. Interview and short assessment. A clear criminal record check by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
What will I do?
The CACHE Certificate in Childcare and Education L3is a two year course, the content of which is divided into four themes:
- Health & well-being
- Legislation, Frameworks & Professional practice
- Play, Development & Learning for school readiness
- Professional Development. Work experience includes a minimum of 730 placement hours (2 days a week).
Assessment of skill competency will take place in the real working environment across three different age ranges 0-5 years old.
What will it give me?
This qualification will provide you with a licence to practice and the status of being an Early years Educator. It will also give you a Level 3 Certificate in Childcare and Education.
A college T. shirt to be worn in work placement. A CACHE Diploma Level 3 text book.
What can I do when I finish?
Progression internally: a foundation degree levels 4 and 5 depending upon achievement, attendance and motivation. Progression to university: higher education depending on grades and UCAS points.
Employment opportunities include: child and family centres; community nursery; nursery supervisor; day nurseries; and hospital nurseries. Child-minding, nanny work, a children's play supervisor for a holiday company.
Early Years Educators may also work in primary schools to support the work of teachers. Support special needs assistant. Crèche leader, playgroup leader, pre-school leader, out of school clubs, toy library leader.
