Course overview

If your dream is to become a beauty therapist, then the Level 1 Diploma in Beauty is the place to start. You will learn and practise the skills needed to be successful in your career, whether this is running your own salon, travelling the world, working on a cruise liner or self -employment.


The opportunities are as broad as your imagination. This is a full time course which includes work placement along with Maths and English and is taught over 3 days per week. You will partake in practical and theory lessons.


Course requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. You will need an interview which will assess your interest and suitability for the course.

What will I do?

Whilst studying the Diploma in Beauty L1, you will be able practice your skills in our purpose built salons gaining valuable work experience and cover topics such as: Introduction on to Hair and Beauty Follow Health & Safety in the salon Working with others Assist with Reception Facial Make-up / Photographic Make-up Create an image using colour Manicures, Pedicures and Nail Art Face painting Create an image Present an image.

What will it give me?

This programme aims to help you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to become a practising Beauty Therapist. It will also gove you a L1 Diploma in Beauty.

Materials needed

All students in the Hairdressing and Beauty department are required to wear a uniform and purchase their own hairdressing kit which can be purchased from the College. (Support may be provided).
