Course overview

Higher Level Apprenticeships are practical, hands-on programmes designed to provide you with relevant, practical training, which will enable you to progress within your chosen industry. They have been developed on the back of business needs to support higher level skills development critical to your employer’s higher business growth. This qualification is designed for experienced managers – choose this if you both manage other managers and have some responsibility for developing and implementing strategy in your area of the organisation. It is full funded if it is your first Level 5 qualification.

Course requirements

This qualification is available to anyone who is capable of reaching the required standards and meeting the assessment criteria for the units through their particular job role. You will need to hold maths and English qualifications at Level 2.

What will I do?

NVQ Component – Work based evidence. One to one support from an assessor. VRQ Component – One to one support will be given by a trained and competent Management assessor. Alternatively, group classroom based sessions may be arranged at your workplace or the college. (Dependent upon relevant numbers). Topics covered – Take the four mandatory units that form the core of this qualification: – Develop and evaluate operational plans for own area of responsibility – Provide leadership and direction for own area of responsibility – Plan change in own area of responsibility – Work productively with colleagues and stakeholders. Then, work with your employer and training provider to find the best fit from a wide range of other skills-focused units. Functional skills will be completed at Level 2 for Maths, English and ICT as part of the framework.

A highly recognised qualification in Management. Improved knowledge around different aspects of Management.

What can I do when I finish?

Progression internally depending upon achievement, attendance and motivation. Level 7 Management is also available.
