Diplomas are highly regarded within the care industry, The NOCN Diploma in Skills for Health and Social Care L2 will have you working towards gaining 37 credits through a variety of units and with two different placement experiences to support your theory work.
4 GCSEs at grade D or equivalent (minimum grade D English). A clean DBS check. You are required to have a basic level of Health & Social Care or Childcare or equivalent. An interview will assess your suitability and interest in the subject.
What will I do?
Whilst studying the NOCN Diploma in Skills for Health and Social Care L2 you will develop an understanding of working with children, young people, adults and the elderly.
You will be studying communication skills, equality and diversity, health and safety as well as a range of other specialised topics in the care field.
You will also attend placement two days per week to gain practical experience of working with different service users.
What will it give me?
The course will give you essential skills and attitudes required to become an effective carer. You will also be working towards functional skills or GCSE qualifications (English and Maths).
You will be required to purchase a college polo shirt for your placement experience and having a memory stick is advised.
What can I do when I finish?
Progression to Level 3 in Health and Social Care or to Level 2 Childcare.
You could also apply for an apprenticeship within the sector or gain employment within a care setting.
