Course overview

HND in Art and Design L5 is taught over a 2 year period. This course requires an in-depth interview in which you will bring your art portfolio where you will be required to talk about your art, concepts, styles etc. Units include: Professional Development, Contextual Studies, Individual Project (Pearson-set), Techniques & Practices, Media Practices, Material Practices, Art/Craft Production, Applied Practice, Collaborative Project, Advanced Art Practice Studies


Course requirements

This course has been devised for learners who have either completed the level 3 extended art or equivalent.


What will I do?

Whilst studying the HND in Art and Design L5 you will complete projects and assignments which include both theory and practical.

Units may include Visual communication, Ideas generation, contextual and culture referencing, professional practice, project design and implementation plus specialist art units.

Art Materials depending on your personal project A3 / A4 work books


What can I do when I finish?

After the two years you can then move to a top up year at university converting to a Degree or into employment utilising the range of skills you have developed.
