Elf and Social Care staff spread Christmas cheer

Health and Social Care staff and students from Bishop Auckland College have gotten into the festive spirit to help raise money for Alzheimer’s Society and the fight against dementia. Tutors Christine Evans, Paula Taylor and Debbie Rewcastle (left-right) are leading the fundraising activities at the college and setting the standard of outfit for the students to try to beat!

With someone developing it every three minutes, dementia is the number one cause of death in England and Wales. It doesn’t discriminate, it has a huge impact on families everywhere, and currently there’s no cure. In short, it’s a big challenge – the biggest health challenge we face today. Which is where the little (and not-so-little) helpers come in.

Staff and students will be fundraising all week, with Friday culminating in the main ‘Elf Day’ event, when people across the nation unleash their inner elves to support people affected by dementia.
