Casual Pastoral & Learning Mentor

Casual hourly rate: £11.09 per hour (inclusive of holiday entitlement)

 This position is to be based within the Durham Gateway area of the College, which is a specialist department working with pre-16 students who are studying an alternative provision route.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Casual Pastoral and Learning Mentor to join the provision.  The Casual Pastoral and Learning Mentor will be responsible for supporting the students’ personal, social and educational needs, supporting the teachers in the classroom and general school environment and contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school.

The successful candidate will require a CACHE L3 Teaching Assistant/ PTLLS or equivalent Level 3 qualification in supporting in the classroom (or be willing to work towards within 1 year); level 2 in Literacy (or be willing towards within 2 years); level 2 in Numeracy (or be willing towards within 2 years); and Safeguarding Level 1 (to be achieved within 6 weeks).

Applicants must have experience of working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, previously.
