Durham Gateway is a specialist alternative education provision within the Bishop Auckland College Group, designed to support 14–16-year-olds who face challenges in mainstream education. Established in 2018, it offers inclusive, skills-focused learning opportunities through a combination of GCSEs, Functional Skills, vocational studies, and employability training.

With industry-standard facilities and subjects like motor vehicle, sport, construction, catering, and more, Durham Gateway provides a supportive environment that nurtures each student’s potential, fostering resilience and ambition. Enrolment is handled exclusively through referrals from schools, academies, or local authorities.

As part of the Bishop Auckland College Group, Durham Gateway benefits from shared resources and support services, enhancing the educational opportunities available to students across both institutions.
