Course overview
Do you dream of a career performing on stage or perhaps you'd love to work behind the scenes helping run big theatre productions? Our Level 2 course will expand upon your understanding of all elements of acting, dance and singing to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to further. Students take part in several performances throughout the year including pantomime, musical showcases and with external partners as well as cultural trips and further enrichment. The course and department also have strong links to Eleven Arches and Kynren, where it will be strongly recommended that you volunteer as part of your work placement for this course, due to the expansion of their project and possible employability in the near future. Progression from this course is to Level 3 Performing Arts.
Course requirements
Level 1 in performing arts or equivalent. GCSE Grades 2 or above in English and maths.
What will I do?
Units include: - Developing technique for performance - Rehearsing and performing - Performing arts production process - Working in the performing arts industry As well as the performance side there is written assignments and tasks to complete.
What will it give me?
A Level 2 Certificate in Performance Skills.
Materials needed
Black dance shoes, black exercise wear, hand towel and basic stationery items.
What can I do when I finish?
If you have successful complete this course with good grades and attendance you will be interviewed for the Level 3 Diploma in Performing Arts.
