Bishop Auckland Pride 2025 : What to Expect This Saturday! 

Join us this Saturday 14th June, from 11am to 9pm, for a vibrant day of celebration at Bishop Auckland College as we host Bishop Auckland Pride 2025, in partnership with Baccanalia! Expect live performances, family fun, great food, community spirit, and plenty of colour and glitter and best of all, it’s completely free to attend. Please note, there is a £2.50 charge to park for the day on the college grounds. 

Main Stage Highlights 

Our main stage will be packed with fantastic performances all day long. We kick things off at 11:15am withthe Bishop Auckland College Showcase, followed by a magical performance from Princesses Live at 12:15pm. 

At 1:15pm, enjoy powerful vocals from our Jess Glynne Tribute act, before local favourite Ruth Stapleton takes to the stage at 2:00pm. 

The afternoon continues with The Vengaboyz Experience at 3:00pm, bringing you that iconic party atmosphere. Then, DJ Director takes over the decks at 4:00pm, setting the tone for the evening. 

Get ready to dance as The 90’s Experience hits the stage at 5:00pm, followed by Cheryl Fergison (EastEnders’ ‘Heather Trott’) at 6:00pm, bringing her big personality and even bigger vibes. 

From 6:45pm, sing your heart out with The ABBA Experience, before your glamorous host Gucci Gaboré takes the stage at 8:00pm. Finally, our show-stopping headliner Danny Beard, winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, will close the day at 8:30pm with sparkle, sass and sensational talent. 

If you’ve always dreamed of your own moment in the spotlight, Katie’s Karaoke will be running during the day!  

 

Fun for the Family 

There’s plenty for children and families to enjoy throughout the event. Fairground rides, including teacups and swings, will run from 12pm to 5pm, while the bouncy castle and soft play area will be available all day. 

Children can enjoy face painting until 7pm, and get creative with glitter tattoos and craft activities like Pride kite workshops and friendship bracelet making. 

Tidy Ted will be making a special appearance, and roaming characters will be adding fun and surprises throughout the day. 

Little ones can also explore emergency service vehicles and meet local police and fire crews, who’ll be visiting during the event. 

 

What’s on the Menu? 

You won’t go hungry at Pride! A range of food stalls will be on-site offering something for everyone. Expect festival favourites like burgers, fries and sweet treats, along with vegan-friendly options and more. 

There will be plenty of hot and cold drinks throughout the day, including tea, coffee, and soft drinks. Plus, keep an eye out for artisan and local vendors selling bakes, street food and unique snacks. 

 

Community & Creative Spaces 

Pride is about more than entertainment. It’s about connection, creativity and community. 

This year, you can visit the Love Tapes Project between 11:30am and 4:30pm, where you’ll have a rare opportunity to view archived video messages from around the world and record your own 3-minute message of love, memory or reflection. You can choose to keep it private or add it to the global archive. 

You’ll also find student artwork on display with the ‘Inclusion’ exhibition running alongside the Love Tapes installation, as well as 100 Portraits of Bishop, a live interactive experience where guests can sit for their portrait. 

Visit the Love Wall to leave a personalised message or reflection and take home a memory from the day. 

 

Chill Out & Wellness Zone 

For anyone looking to take a break from the crowds, our Chill Out Area is the perfect place to relax. With yoga mats, bean bags, and comfy cushions, it’s a free space to rest and recharge. 

We’ll also be offering guided meditation and laughter yoga sessions throughout the day. Join us for a short, refreshing experience, no booking required. Sessions will run as follows:

  • 1:00pm – Laughter Yoga 
  • 2:00pm – Guided Meditation

You’re in for a treat… Pride is free to attend! Come along and join us for free!

Parking for this event will be at the East entrance to the college grounds (usually the exit) on Woodhouse Lane. There is a £2.50 charge to park for the day.

Well-behaved animals are welcome at Bishop Auckland Pride, but we kindly ask you to clean up after them and that they always remain on a lead.

You will not be allowed to bring your own food and drink on site, there are food and drink outlets available through the day at Pride. You cannot bring alcohol on site, bag checks will happen on entrance.

Most of the grounds are flat and wheelchair friendly and we will ensure that pathways are clear of obstacles and clutter.
