Course overview

This course teaches essential skills for entrepreneurs, covering practical treatments (nails, brows, facials) alongside business fundamentals (marketing, finance, legalities, health & safety) to help you launch your own salon or freelance career, with options for in-person training at colleges or online study for flexibility, preparing you to manage operations, clients, and staff. This course is available on a part time basis. Part time is taught over one evening or one day per week. You will also be required to do a placement on a full time course.

Course requirements

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing or Nails. Perfect for individuals currently enrolled in a hair or beauty course.

What will I do?

Whilst undertaking the Level 2 Award in Preparing to Run a Hair & Beauty Business , you will be able to practice your skills in our purpose built salons gaining valuable work experience and cover topics including: - Business Skills: Creating business plans, marketing, finance, HR, and understanding industry regulations. - Technical Skills Manicures, pedicures, facials, waxing, tanning, lash/brow treatments. - Technical Skills Hair structure, colour theory, chemical services. - Health & Safety: Safe working practices, hygiene, disinfection, client protection, and injury prevention.

What will it give me?

This programme aims to help you to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to gain a Level 2 qualification.

Materials needed

All students in the Hairdressing and Beauty department are required to wear a uniform.
