Course overview
This course is ideal for anyone looking to kick-start their motor vehicle career. It will give you the opportunity to develop your practical skills whilst gaining a better understanding of the fast-fit industry. As a fast fit technician, you will be taught how to replace and repair exhausts, brakes, tyres and batteries. The course is both theory and practical based and includes training on new and innovative hybrid and electrical systems. Progression can lead into Level 2 Maintenance and Repair or an apprenticeship standard.
Course requirements
L1 motor vehicle qualification or equivalent. Grade GCSE 2 or 3 in English and maths.
What will I do?
Whilst studying the Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles Level 2, you will have practical time in the workshop and also classroom theory covering a range of units which include: - Testing batteries and other engine parts to find faults - Checking tyres and exhausts for defects - Replacing or repairing faulty parts - Balancing and re-aligning wheels - Offering customers advice on simple maintenance issues Other non-technical but essential skills also include: how to maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers in the automotive work environment by using effective communication and support.

A City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Vehicle Fitting Principles (VRQ) qualification.
