Course overview

This course is designed for adults 19+ who want to start or progress in a career in health and social care but prefer a more flexible, two-year route rather than an intensive one-year Access to Higher Education course. You will gain both the knowledge and practical experience needed to work in the sector, with a strong emphasis on real-world practice and developing confidence in care settings.

Course requirements

A commitment to study over two years A willingness to complete work placement (or be in relevant employment) Basic English and maths skills (support can be provided if needed) Successful interview

What will I do?

You will study key areas of social care practice, including: Safeguarding and duty of care Supporting individuals with a range of needs Communication and professional relationships Health, safety and wellbeing Person-centred care approaches You will also: Complete a work placement (if not already employed in the sector) Develop practical skills required for care roles Build confidence for employment or further study
