Thinking about university but don't yet have the qualifications, confidence or study skills you need? This programme is designed for adults who are serious about progressing towards higher-level study and professional careers. Whether you dream of becoming a nurse, teacher, social worker, counsellor, police officer, youth worker or working within health, education or public services, this course helps you develop the foundations needed for success. The programme provides a supportive bridge between returning to education and progressing onto a Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma or other advanced qualifications.

Course requirements

Aged 19 or over Commitment to personal development and progression A desire to progress towards Level 3 study Successful interview and initial assessment Learners can study alongside English and maths qualifications where required.

What will I do?

This programme focuses on developing the skills needed to succeed in higher-level study and future employment. You will: Attend Friday to our McIntyre centre in the town. Develop academic study skills Learn how to research, evaluate and present information Improve written communication and assignment skills Build confidence in independent learning Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills Explore progression routes into university and professional careers Create personal progression plans to help achieve your long-term goals You will also receive guidance and support from experienced
