(6-week introductory programme) Your future starts here. Whether you're looking to change career, return to education after a break, or take the first steps towards university, this introductory programme has been designed to help you build confidence and explore your options. Many of our adult learners begin by looking at careers in nursing, social work, teaching, counselling, policing, psychology, health, social care and education. They know where they want to go but aren't always sure how to get there. This course helps you understand the pathways available and prepares you for the next stage of study. This short introductory programme provides a supportive and welcoming environment for adults who are considering returning to education. Over six weeks, you will explore study skills, confidence building, career planning and progression opportunities, helping you decide whether further study is right for you. The course is designed as a stepping stone into our Level 2 Pre-Access programme and can help you make informed decisions about your future education and career goals.

Course requirements

Aged 19 or over. Interested in progressing into further study, training or a new career. No formal qualifications required. Willingness to participate and engage in learning activities.

What will I do?

Attend a Friday to our McIntyre Centre in the main street of Bishop Auckland During the programme you will: Explore career opportunities and progression routes Discover how qualifications can help you achieve your goals Develop confidence in returning to learning Improve organisation, communication and study habits Learn about university, Access to Higher Education and professional careers Meet like-minded adults who are also considering a return to education Receive guidance and support to plan your next steps The programme is designed to help you decide whether you are ready to continue onto our Level 2 Pre-Access programme.
