Course overview

Health or Criminology? Explore both. Find your path. Discover Your Future in Health or Criminology This unique Level 2 course blends Health Studies and Criminology, giving you the chance to see how health, society, and crime all connect. You'll work on shared topics like teamwork, equality and diversity, rights and responsibilities, and community projects - plus dive into specialist sessions in your chosen area. Whether you're drawn to caring for others or investigating crime, this course lets you explore both fields before choosing your path, all while gaining skills that employers value.

Course requirements

You should have a genuine interest in health and in the justice system. A minimum of three GCSEs at grade 3 or above or an equivalent qualification is recommended. A willingness to work as part of a team, think critically, and complete both practical and written tasks is essential. You will still be able to study maths and English if you have not achieved these yet.

What will I do?

Explore the connections between health, society, and crime through interactive lessons, workshops, discussions, and case studies. As well as, gain knowledge of health and criminology theories and have real-world practice. Students will also: develop skills in research, analysis, communication and teamwork. Completing a portfolio of evidence, including reflections, photographs, and assessed tasks.

What will it give me?

You will develop a strong understanding of key issues in public health, social wellbeing and crime, as well as the skills employers value. Including problem-solving, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively with others. The course is assessed through a mixture of coursework, practical activities, and your portfolio.

Materials needed

Basic stationery: pencil case, notebook, folder and you will be required to purchase a polo shirt for placement.

What can I do when I finish?

With a Level 2 qualification in Health, Society, and Crime, you'll be ready to progress into a range of courses. This could include health and/or social care, criminology or public services Most students progress to Level 3 study in areas such as T.Level Health, Criminology, or a Uniformed Public Services course. Others move into apprenticeships or employment in the health, justice, or community support sectors.
