Course overview

Learn in real settings, travel, and gain real experience - your route into health and social care starts here. This course is designed for young people who want a career in health and social care but prefer a more flexible, practical and supportive route than a T Level. You will develop real-world skills, confidence and experience through a mix of classroom learning, hands-on practice and industry placements. This programme prepares you for careers where you make a genuine difference to people's lives.

Course requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (including English where possible) A genuine interest in working with people in health or social care settings Willingness to complete a substantial work placement Successful interview and reference

What will I do?

This is not just a classroom course - it's about building your future career. Alongside developing your core knowledge in health and social care, you will: Work in our clinical nursing suite, developing practical care skills in a realistic environment Use specialist resources such as our Anatomage table to explore the human body in an interactive way Take part in Social Action Week, applying your skills to real community projects Go on trips and visits, including opportunities such as London residentials and sector-related experiences Have the opportunity to apply for international placements through Turing funding (previous destinations have included Africa, Albania and Italy) Complete a substantial work placement in a real care setting, building confidence and employability You will also develop key skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience and professionalism - all essential for working in the care sector.
