Course overview
Not everyone can attend regular classes -Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. Funding eligibility criteria: - Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year - Residency - Ordinarily/legally resident in the UK on first day of learning - Home postcode must fall within the North East Combined Authority
Course requirements
Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. The qualification is well suited to people in a range of roles, including HR professionals, safeguarding leads, community leaders, prison officers, teachers, school support staff, play workers and counsellors. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.
What will I do?
You will be required to complete two modules of study. The course will cover Module 1 Introduction to suicide and self-harm awareness. Recognising signs of suicide and self-harm in individuals. Module 2 Principles of suicide and self-harm prevention. Support for individuals when dealing with grief after suicide. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple-choice exam for this course
What will it give me?
You will gain a thorough understanding and awareness of suicide and self-harm, which can be applied to a broad range of personal and professional situations. On successful completion of the course a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
