Course overview
Not everyone can attend regular classes. Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high-quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you. Funding eligibility criteria: - Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year - Residency - Ordinarily/legally resident in the UK on first day of learning - Home postcode must fall within the North East Combined Authority
Course requirements
Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. Whether it is in a personal or professional capacity. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.
What will I do?
You will be required to complete 3 modules of study. These are: Module A Unit 1 Understanding end of life care. Module B Unit 2 Communication during end of life care. Unit 3 Assessment and care planning in end of life care. Module C Unit 4 Person-centred approaches to end of life care Unit 5 Care during the final hours of life and bereavement care. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple-choice exam for this course.
What will it give me?
The programme provides a comprehensive overview of the emotive issues surrounding death and dying. It will help learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of palliative care and its place within end of life care, along with the support services available to the individual and others. The course also provides employers with a structured training programme that will meet the training needs of their employees. The training programme is mapped to aspects of the knowledge outcomes for Clinical Health Skills and Health and Social Care National Occupational Standards and it may also contribute towards parts of the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework. Successful completion of the course a Level 3 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
