Course overview

The Diploma in Beauty Therapy Level 2 builds on the foundations developed at Level 1 and gives students the practical skills, confidence and industry understanding needed to begin a successful career in beauty therapy. Whether students aspire to work in a salon, become a mobile therapist, or progress into the makeup industry, this programme reflects real world practice and the professional standards expected in the sector. This course is available full time or part time. - Part time learners attend one day or one evening per week. - Full time learners also complete a work placement, giving them valuable experience with real clients and employers. Course requirements

To join the course, students will need either: - 4 GCSEs at grades 3-2 (D-E) including at least a grade D in Maths and English, or - Level 1 qualification in a relevant subject.

What will I do?

Students train in our purpose built professional salons, gaining hands on experience with real clients and working alongside experienced tutors. The course covers a wide range of practical and industry relevant skills, including: - Working in beauty related industries - Health and safety - Client care and communication - Product promotion - Salon reception duties - Facial skincare - Waxing techniques - Manicure and pedicure treatments - Eyelash and brow services - Make up application - Tanning techniques - Facial care for men Throughout the programme, students also engage with industry stakeholders, employers, and enrichment opportunities such as competitions, specialist workshops, and trips - including international visits such as Turin, where relevant.

What will it give me?

The programme develops the technical skills, professional behaviours and industry knowledge needed to qualify as a Level 2 Beauty Therapist. Students leave with the confidence to work independently, communicate effectively with clients, and deliver a wide range of beauty treatments to a professional standard.

Materials needed

All students must wear the uniform and purchase their own beauty kit, which is essential for practical sessions and assessments.

What can I do when I finish?

After completing the course, students may progress to: - Level 3 Beauty Therapy - Specialist beauty or makeup courses - Apprenticeships in beauty therapy - Employment in salons, spas, retail beauty, or freelance/mobile work This course also supports long term career development in areas such as skincare consultancy, makeup artistry, spa therapy, and advanced beauty treatments.
