Course overview

A career in care can be extremely rewarding and diverse, with opportunities to work with children, adolescents, older people, people with special needs, hospital patients and the general community. You will have an opportunity to develop and apply new skills and knowledge in a practical realistic way throughout the course. You will be given access to our unique top of the range facilities such as the Nursing and immersive suite which will bring your studies to life. All students will gain valuable insight from professionals in the sector whilst studying this programme. Placements will be offered and Mentors will be provided to support you every step of the way to develop your career. Although this course focuses on the Health and Social care sector it is useful for anyone looking to gain employment. It will give you key employability skills and a great insight into the working world. We will help you develop your skills to the highest level, whichever path you choose.

Course requirements

Minimum 3 GCSE's at grades 2 - 1 (E - F) or equivalent, or entry level qualification. Alternative qualifications and experience will be considered.

What will I do?

You will learn how to care for individuals from birth to old age. As part of this course, you will take part in functional skills and enterprise projects. You will attend college and as well as boost your knowledge and skills by attending placement sessions with our employers. This qualification will develop your employability skills whilst also allowing you to explore the Health and Social care sector.

What will it give me?

The confidence and ability to study at a higher level and a Level 1 Diploma in Health and Social Care.

What can I do when I finish?

You may be able to progress onto the Level 2 in Health & Social Care/ Childcare or employment.
