Access to Higher Education

Access To Higher Education

Our Access to Higher Education (HE) courses are designed for adults aged 19+ who are looking to return to learning and progress to university-level study. Whether you're aiming to retrain, change careers, or take a first step into higher education, these one-year intensive courses help you gain the UCAS points needed for university in under a year. An Access course is the equivalent of 3 A Levels. You’ll study in a supportive environment with small class sizes, dedicated lecturers with professional and academic experience, and access to full student support services. Many of our students progress to degrees in fields such as nursing, teaching, social work, psychology, and more, with some even going on to universities like Cambridge and Durham.

Did you know your Access to HE course could be fully funded?

If you are 19-23 years old and don’t already have a full Level 3 qualification, your Access course will be free!

Students over 23, or with a Level 3, qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. A student who takes out an Advanced Learner Loan for their Access to Higher Education course will study for free, if they go on to complete their higher education studies, as the government will write off their loan.

You will also qualify for free childcare and other support.
