Scoring in the States

Chloe Allan knew she had scored as soon as she enrolled at Bishop Auckland College. Three years on she is combining playing her beloved football with a BSc degree in Physical Education at Minot State University in North Dakota.

The 21-year-old, from Barnard Castle, said: “My time at BAC was amazing, I met great people from my peers to my professors. My favourite thing about attending BAC was how involved and supportive the staff were, especially the sports department.

“Being out in America I am classed as a student athlete and with the staff at BAC pushing me to do well academically and showing me what it means to be a student at Bishop Auckland College it really helped me to thrive inside the classroom in America.

“I couldn’t thank the staff enough for making my experience at BAC unforgettable and their continuing support whilst I’m out in America.”

After completing her degree, Chloe hopes to continue to play football for as long as she can whilst travelling and playing in either the United States or another country.

She added: “A message I would give to a school leaver is ‘don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone, college is the time to figure out who you are and what you want to do and a great place to start is at BAC’. Bishop Auckland College will put you first and support you continuously; this college is a brilliant college to consider for sure.”
