Course overview

Not everyone can attend regular classes- Flexible Learning means you can study at times and locations to suit you. More and more people are choosing to study on a Flexible Learning course to improve their general employability skills. The courses can be offered in a venue within the community and built around your training requirements. All our tutors are specialists in their vocational area and offer exceptionally high quality one-to-one support. Whatever your background or experience, we believe there will be a programme of interest to you.

Funding eligibility criteria:

  • Candidate must be aged 19 or over on 31 August of current year
  • Candidates aged 19-23 must already hold a Full Level 2 Qualification
  • Candidates must have resided in the EU for the past three years

Course requirements

Learners must have a genuine interest in their chosen subject. This course is designed for anyone who wishes to develop their knowledge of the issues and anti-discrimination laws that relate to equality and diversity. Learners do not have to be in employment to enrol on this course.

What will I do?

You will be required to complete three units of study, presented in two module workbooks. This course will cover. Module A Unit 1 Equality and diversity in society. Module B Unit 2 Equality and diversity in the community. Unit 3 Equality and Diversity in the workplace. Learners are required to complete assessments that are based upon the information and activities within the learning materials provided. There is no end test or multiple choice exam for this course.

What will it give me?

The course will help to raise awareness of discrimination, prejudice, stereotyping and individual freedoms and rights. In doing so, it will promote learners’ understanding of what it means to live in a diverse society and the laws that are in place to prevent unjust behaviour. This will be beneficial not only to the learners themselves but also to their employers and the wider society. On successful completion of the course a Level 2 certificate will be awarded. The course is accredited by a nationally recognised awarding body.
